Applying for a school place in our Reception class:
For a place in our Reception Class families need to apply to the local authority for a school place so that their children can start school in the September after their 4th Birthday.
If your child lives in West Northamptonshire, from 10th September 2025, you can make an application for a:

If you are applying for your child’s first school place (Reception) you need to fill in the application form (CAF) from your own Local Authority – not the one where the school is located.
Families will be notified, by email, of where their child has been allocated a school place on 16th April.
We aim to admit 6 children per academic year with a maximum of 42 pupils on roll throughout the school.
As well as children who live in Farthinghoe, we currently have children on roll who live in the towns of Brackley and Banbury and the villages of Middleton Cheney, Charlton, Helmdon and Kings Sutton.

Applying for a school place outside of normal transfer times:
Applications made outside of the normal transfer time should be made using the 'In Year Transfer' application form available from West Northamptonshire County Council website (please follow the link) - https://www.westnorthants.gov.uk/move-school-during-school-year-year/how-apply-school-place-outside-normal-transfer-times
West Northamptonshire Admissions Team aim to allocate in-year places within 15 school days of application submission. Pupils are then required to start within 10 school days of allocation.
Appealing a decision to not allocate at preferred school:

Consultation on Changes to Primary School Oversubscription Criteria within The Warriner Multi Academy Trust
For entry in September 2027, the Trust is consulting on proposed changes to the oversubscription criteria for all its primary schools. These changes aim to ensure consistency and equity across all schools within the Multi Academy Trust.
Key Proposed Changes:
These changes are designed to align admissions arrangements across all Trust schools and to provide priority for children who may benefit from additional support.
The Trust welcomes feedback from parents, carers, staff, and the wider community regarding these proposed changes before finalising the policy.
Consultation Period: Tuesday 4th November to Tuesday 16th December 2025.

- Criteria 2: Addition of children who are eligible for the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) at their early years provider.
- Criteria 3: Inclusion of children who are currently, or have previously been, subject to a Child in Need Plan or a Child Protection Plan.
- Criteria 8: Priority for children who attend the school’s nursery at the time of application (where applicable).
These changes are designed to align admissions arrangements across all Trust schools and to provide priority for children who may benefit from additional support.
