Farthinghoe Primary School is a proud member of the RHS Campaign for School Gardening....
Being outside, enjoying our school grounds and learning about nature, is an important part of our learning at Farthinghoe Primary School.
Each week our keystage 2 children enjoy a gardening lesson with our resident green-fingered teacher, Mrs Lear.
Lessons entail all aspects of gardening from ground preparation, species spotting, sowing seeds and general maintenance.
As part of our pledge to caring for our outside space, we are proud to participate in the RHS School Gardening Awards. In December 2025 we were delighted to receive our level 1 certificate which recognises our understanding of the benefits of gardening, ensuring our gardens are accessible and preparing for the year ahead.
The children, along with Mrs Lear, will continue to work on their gardening award and we cannot wait to see what the next level involves.
We are extremely proud to have our efforts recognised and to be a member.
