Our Governing Body
Governing bodies have a wide range of strategic responsibilities covering all aspects of school life.
The Governing Body has three core functions:
The operational management of the school is the responsibility of the Head Teacher and Deputy Head Teacher.
The governing body's responsibilities are outlined in the Department for Educations' publication A Guide to the Law for School Governors. This is accessible online at www.education.gov.uk/schools/leadership/governance/guidetothelaw.
Our governing body has committees to help distribute the governing body's duties among those members who have skills or interests in a particular area of school life. Governing body responsibilities are formally delegated to these committees who can discuss matters in further detail and report back to the full governing body about their findings, recommendations, or decisions.
Every committee is legally required to have a 'Terms of Reference' outlining what functions the committee has, what its membership is and what duties have been formally delegated to the committee by the governing body. This is reviewed annually along with membership.
Contacting the Governors
To contact the Governors, feel free to either talk to a Governor listed below or email c.musgrove@warriner.oxon.sch.uk, for the attention of ‘Farthinghoe Primary School Governing Body’. Governors welcome constructive feedback and ideas about the strategic direction of the school.
Please note that Governors do not get involved in the day-to-day functioning of the school, and it is not appropriate to contact Governors about individual children.
