Residential Trip to Everdon, Wednesday 29th - Friday 31st Jan 2025
Day 1 update - Everyone all happy and well. We have been for a walk around Little Everdon and are playing games in the garden. We will all need showers tonight as we got very wet and muddy on our walk, and we loved it!
Day 2 morning update - Good morning! Everyone slept well and are all looking forward to their breakfast and the walk up to Everdon Stubbs later.
Day 2 afternoon update - We have been very lucky with the weather today, it has been as near perfect as it could be. After a huge breakfast we walked up to Everdon Stubbs and squished and splashed our way up Wild Boar Hill (renamed Wild Boar Mountain by the children 🙄). We played some games in the woods, left tracks for our friends to follow, had lunch and then made dens for our soft and cuddly animal friends. Our walk back was slightly slower than the walk to the woods, there are some very tired children (and adults 😃). When we got back to the Centre we did arts and crafts in the garden. We are looking forward to dinner later, board games, Lego and hot chocolate. We are having a great time.
Final update - Our last day and the sun failed to shine 😟 However, we didn’t let that stop the fun! After breakfast and packing our bags, we joined our rangers Juno and Sarah and played problem solving games on the green and then learned fire making skills in the garden before toasting marshmallows and all of this before lunch! We have had an amazing time. Many thanks to Mrs Thompson, who agreed to come along at short notice. And a huge thanks to the Year 3 and 4 children who made the trip so enjoyable. Wishing you all a happy and relaxing weekend.

Year 3 & 4 Science:
In year 3 and 4 we have thoroughly enjoyed investigating soil and rocks this week.
We embarked on a 'Farthinghoe dig' on Monday and each obtained a soil sample from the school grounds. We were astonished to discover all the different layers and compounds.
On Tuesday we trekked to the village church grounds to investigate what different rocks and formations we could see.
On Wednesday, each child has chosen an individual science question to investigate - all around the topic of rocks.
We intend to round off our fun science learning, by making Rocky Road cakes on Thursday - yummy!
